Joe's Bio
Joe was born, William Joseph LeMaster, in Sidney, Ohio on September 11, 1953. He came from a large family of 5 brothers and 2 sisters. He attended Sidney High School and worked at Kaufman’s (Sidney)/ Mr. K’s (Piqua) clothing stores as part of his education. After graduating from Sidney High School (1971), he worked at F.W. Woolworth’s in the Piqua Mall until he enlisted in the U.S. Navy in August 1971.
Joe served in the Navy from August 1971 – January 1992. His first seven (7) years were spent as a jet mechanic on H3, P3 and H46 aircraft. Although he attained the rank of First Class Petty Officer, his strong desire to help others achieve led him to change ratings to Navy Counselor. As a Navy Counselor, Joe served as a Command Career Counselor, Recruiter, Recruiter-In-Charge, Assistant Zone Supervisor, Admin Chief, and retired serving as the Naval Air Station, Key West, Florida’s Admin Department Head. He, as the only enlisted Department Head, supervised ten (10) varied divisions at this position. During his career he managed multi-million dollar budgets and supervised a wide variety of personnel, both military and civilian.
Upon his separation from the Navy, Joe moved to Miami, Fl and sold Life Insurance and Securities until Hurricane Andrew devastated his home and place of work. He and his family relocated to Plantation, Florida for the year of rebuilding. During that time Joe returned to college and completed his Bachelor of Science Degree. He accepted a job with the Florida Job Service in North Miami Beach, Florida and worked until he was accepted to United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio. Joe was also a student Pastor during the beginning of his class work. He resigned his pastorate and at the request of his congregation started Family Of God Ministries of Arcanum, Ohio in November of 1994.
Joe worked part-time jobs during his early years in ministry. These jobs included; Production Equipment Company/ American Commercial Supplies (Piqua) as outside sales and FedEx (Dayton Airport) as a handler/driver. During his part-time employment and being Pastor a congregation, he managed to complete his Master and Doctorate Degrees at Master’s Graduate School of Divinity. He continues to serve the congregation and desires to serve the people of the 5th Senate District in the same dedicated manner. Your vote is important!
