Elect Joe LeMaster
Ohio State Senate 5th District
Welcome
I want to personally thank you for viewing this website. Prayerfully through this site you will be able to look within my heart and to determine if I am worthy of your vote.
This is a serious undertaking to run for the 5th District Ohio Senate. People all over this District and the rest of the State of Ohio have been frustrated over the handling or mishandling of our finances (taxes). We once had surplus funds. Now we have a huge deficit and spending increases. Some would lead you to believe that you must have a post-graduate degree in finance to understand the problems. I couldn’t disagree more! Common sense should dictate that overspending leads to deficits. Spending what you don’t have or are able to take in puts us in jeopardy of bankruptcy. To have an understanding of stewardship is a good thing, but we have a State Auditor to help the Governor with the budget. I also believe that we should abolish the Ohio personal income tax and the death tax.
In conjunction with taxes, we must address JOBS! Taxing “the rich” might appear to be the way to end our financial woes. The truth be known, we could take all the money from the rich and it wouldn’t alleviate our financial problems. Secondly, many of those demonized as the wealthy are those who supply our jobs. If they don’t have money to operate, then they don’t have money to hire people or keep them employed. We have to achieve the mindset here in Ohio that we love business and welcome it here.
People appear to feel that our elected officials won’t listen to them, really don’t understand them, and actually don’t care about them. I feel the same way and that is what leads me to run for this office. Furthermore, unlike many of our elected officials, I support and endorse the TEA Party movement. This movement is made up of ordinary citizens who believe in the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of the State of Ohio. We believe that the 10th Amendment to the Constitution is put there to limit the Federal Government and keeps the Federal Government from oppressing the States and the citizens. I belong to the Darke County TEA Party.
It would be an honor to receive your vote on Election Day.
Thank You,
Joe
