Issues
1. Should English be the official language of the United States?
Yes. We live in a great republic. What has made this republic great is our ability to be a melting pot of ideas. The glue that helps to melt those ideas together is the English language. If you want to be an American, you must speak the language of the American people … English.
2. Should the federal government commit to a balanced budget?
Yes. It is impossible to run the American government like we run our own budgets, but it doesn’t mean we should ignore sound principles. We must balance the budget and stop the insanity of being a debtor nation. I will go one step further. The State of Ohio needs to stop circumventing the Ohio Constitution with programs like “Third Frontier Program”. The Ohio Constitution has a debt limitation to prevent too much debt by our state government. This program, if passed, will drive the state into an additional $700 million in state bonds debt. We need not only balance the budget, but we need to elect people that will keep the intent of the Constitution that they swear to uphold!
3. Does the Second Amendment grant citizens the right to bear arms?
Yes. “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to keep the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.” I don’t know how one could read or understand it in any other way. Not only are we given the right to keep arms, but we have the right to bear arms. We shouldn’t even need CCW permits because it is our Constitutional right to bear arms!
4. Can the Federal Government create private enterprise employment?
No. The Federal & State Government only creates debt for the tax payers. By creating more public sector jobs, government creates greater tax burdens on the taxpayer. If regulated correctly, government can create an atmosphere that welcomes private sector jobs, but can never create them.
5. Does the Constitution authorize the Federal Government to control local schools?
No. Although Article I, Section 8, states that the government is established “To promote the Progress of Science and useful Arts”, this is not for education but to insure that authors and inventors are protected from others stealing their writings and inventions. No place does the Constitution promote or proclaim the right to educate or control schools.
6. Is the United States a sovereign nation?
Yes. The United States continues to be sovereign in spite of many who have tried to make us bow down to other countries.
7. If yes in 6 above, will you work to keep it a sovereign nation?
Yes. still is my sworn duty and will continue to be for life.
8. Should illegal aliens be granted the same rights as citizens?
No. Those who have entered this nation illegally are law breakers. Additionally, we need to amend the 14th Amendment to the Constitution to read “All persons “legally” born or naturalized in the United States …”. This would prevent illegal aliens from breaking the law to bear children and then claim citizenship that is not rightfully theirs. They deserve deportation, not rights.
9 & 10. Can the size of the government, local, state and federal be reduced?
Will you work to make this happen?
Yes. Government is bloated. Many of these professions should become privatized or eliminated. We can make this happen, but people must relearn that government is NOT their parents. We as a sovereign people must take a sovereign mindset and not rely on the government. It is my Constitutional duty to limit government.
11. Should abortion continue to be legal?
No. Abortion is murder and must stop. We can help those who have unwanted pregnancies by streamlining the process for adoption. This would require tort reform and getting the lawyers out of the mix or at least limiting their stranglehold on the process.
12. Should the government ever use eminent domain on behalf of private enterprise?
No. Government was not designed to pick and choose which private person or business should succeed and which should fail. Again, government should stick within the bounds of protecting the people and not overstepping those boundaries.
13 & 14. Have you read the oath of office you will be taking if elected?
Will you adhere to all aspects of that oath?
Yes. I am an Oath Keeper. I believe that once we take an oath, it is for life. I will keep the oath to the best of my ability.
15. Would you support fair tax legislation?
Yes. The current tax structure benefits whoever is in the majority. It is used to pay bribes to others for votes and special favors. The “Fair Tax” would eliminate the ability of either party from taking advantage of power. The “Fair Tax” will level the playing field and make legislators stick to legislating and not bribery.
16. Amendment I to the Constitution of the United States states in part, “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion”. Does this mean no religion, such as prayers, in our schools?
No.
17. Do you support prayer and the pledge in schools?
Yes.
This Amendment clearly states that Congress shall make no law respecting the establishment of religion, OR prohibiting free exercise thereof. Our forefathers found comfort in the many Protestant denominations that sprang up in the early years of this country. They left the tyranny of the Church of England and the King. They didn’t want the Church to be tied to the government nor the government tied to the Church.
18. Should the government mandate social engineering?
No. Government should stick to only protection of the people, minting $ etc.
